Philanthropy as Founding Equity
Fund the instrument that teaches civilization to heal.
MINDAI Institute is a nonprofit public benefit organization. Every gift builds one of two things: the indices that make healing governable, or the sanctuary and programs where healing capacity is grown. Philanthropy here is not charity — it is founding equity in the healing economy.
The Case for Giving
A small founding cost. A century of leverage.
In 1990, a small UN team built the Human Development Index; it went on to redirect billions in global development finance. The founding cost of a world-changing index is remarkably small relative to what it moves. The donors who fund the GNTI and NHCI now are not supporting a program — they are authoring an instrument of global governance that will carry their conviction for a century.
The world will spend trillions this decade on artificial intelligence. MINDAI invites a fraction of one percent of that ambition to be invested in the other intelligence — the human capacity to perceive, regulate, and heal. No portfolio in philanthropy currently offers this position: first-mover funding of the civilizational metric for trauma and healing.

The Giving Architecture
Five ways to build.
$1M+
Lead Gifts
The Founders' Circle — Index Endowment
Permanent founding recognition in the GNTI/NHCI governance and publications. Naming opportunities: the inaugural Index Report, the methodology chair, the annual Healing Gap Summit. For the philanthropist who funds instruments, not programs.
$250K–$1M
Sponsorship
Pilot Nation Sponsorship
Underwrite the full GNTI/NHCI assessment of one founding pilot country. Sponsors receive named association with that nation's inaugural measurement, briefings with the research team, and presence at the national presentation.
$1K–$100K
Annual Giving
The Healing Capacity Fund
Trains facilitators across the USA, Thailand, and Bhutan through the train-the-trainer model — directly growing the world's measured healing capacity. A gift here literally moves a future NHCI score.

The Community of Practice
Sustains open-access curriculum, community assessments, and the public Index Report. Members receive Dr. Kopera's field letters and first access to programs and journeys.
How the Model Works
Your capital is leveraged, never lonely.
MINDAI operates a mission-led cross-subsidy model: earned revenue from retreats, training, and expeditions underwrites open-access programs and index development. Philanthropic gifts are matched by a working institute, not a waiting one.

The first index needs first believers.
