The mind behind Mental Intelligence

Physician. Consciousness researcher. Author. Founder of MINDAI Institute. Dr. Aimon Kopera has spent five decades at the meeting point of medicine and the deep mind — and is now bringing that lifetime to bear on humanity's largest unmeasured problem.

The Arc

A path that began where trauma had

no index and no voice.

Bangkok · Origins

Raised in Bangkok with early training in Tai Chi and exposure to hill tribe ceremonial traditions, Dr. Kopera's formation spans worlds that rarely meet — the beginning of nearly fifty years of contemplative practice across Buddhist, Catholic, and indigenous lineages.

The Clinic & The Camp

As a physician with more than thirty years of clinical experience — including service on UN medical teams and in refugee camps — she witnessed what national statistics never recorded: the psychological weight entire populations carry across borders and generations. The numbers existed for mortality and infection. There were no numbers for the wound.

The Teachers

Repeated personal audiences with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama since 2008. Training in the Grof lineage of psychedelic-assisted therapy with MAPS certification. Study with Mantak Chia. Apprenticeship in Andean shamanic traditions. Research collaboration with USC's mindfulness and psychedelic studies program.

The Books

Her trilogy — culminating in Mental Intelligence: The Technology of Perception (December 2026) — articulates the framework that powers the Institute: nine intelligence fields, from Stabilizing to Integrative, with Compassion Intelligence emerging as the convergent tenth; and six channels of the technology of perception, from breath and sound to ceremony and biofeedback.

The Instruments

The GNTI and NHCI are this lifetime distilled into instruments. Few people alive hold clinical medicine, contemplative depth, global institutional experience, and index-building ambition in one biography. That convergence is MINDAI's founding asset.

“I have sat with refugees, with monks, with the dying, and with heads of contemplative lineages. They are all telling us the same thing: the mind is the territory. It is time our civilization mapped it.”

Speaking & Press

A public voice for the era of two intelligences.

Dr. Kopera speaks and writes at the intersection the world is only beginning to name: artificial intelligence advancement and human mental intelligence development — addressing policymakers, impact investors, technologists, clinicians, and contemplatives, from the local community to the civilizational level.
